(1) Karen Murrell’s Pink Starlet

I’ve been told it’s Karen Murrell’s number one selling lipstick colour in New Zealand pharmacies, I can see why. It’s a mauve pink which is a safe colour to wear, especially for those who aren’t fond of bright colors. Perfect for day and office makeup, Pink Starlet was the first pink lipstick hue that Karen Murrell designed as a tribute to the colour pink. I usually wear it on days when I am opting for minimal makeup.

Personally, it’s not a favourite shade of mine, I tend to adore brighter shades such as True Love and Racy Rata; nonetheless, we totally understand why this fail-safe lipstick colour is a hit! As per other Karen Murrell lipsticks, they contain avocado oil for hydration and protection, cinnamon which plumps lips to make them look fuller, evening primrose oil which is rich in Omega 6 perfect for soothing and moisturising dry lips and carnauba wax which means the lipsticks do not melt in your handbags! RRP $29.95 www.karenmurrell.com for more info and check out selected pharmacies and health food stores nationwide.

(2) Anatomicals Collection

I was introduced to Anatomicals collection late last year and I found the brand quite colourful and catchy from the get-go. I love their play on words and their slogan ‘We only want you for your body’. It’s good to know their focus and emphasis! One of my favourites from their collection is the Melon Body Scrub, it smells so DELICIOUS (wish it was edible!). I use it 3 times a week for the scrub and this morning, I got the very last drop so I will need to refill.  This scrub is enriched with Vitamin’s A & C to softly condition dry skin, it’s a treat especially during  Autumn/Winter.  The scrub is filled with Pumice which is sourced from ancient volcanic rock to help with exfoliating your body. They are available at selected Pak ‘n’ Saves, New World and Countdown Supermarkets and Bin Inns nationwide; RRP $10.99.

By my bedside is the Avocado Rich Hand Cream from Anatomicals, which as you can guess is what I apply on my hands at night after my night cleansing routine. It contains shea butter, avocado and avocado oil and Vitamin E. I absolutely love the fruity smell on my hands and the silky smooth feel it gives to my hands. At the price of RRP $9.99, I definitely recommend this product and I also use it during the day as it’s small enough to carry in my handbag.

In my bathroom at home, I have Anatomicals Passion Fruit Hand Soap. Love the pink bottle! Smells lovely and it won’t dry your hands out. (RRP 10.99).

My absolute favourite and bathroom staple from the Anatomicals collection is the Cocoa Body Cleanser (super amazing!). The smell of this body cleanser is to die for and off to chocolate heaven you go, so delicious (but please don’t eat it, although we wish we could). It’s a nod to the celebrated fashionista Coco Chanel apparently! I have heard from other bloggers that the formula leaves their skin dry, however, that was not the case for me (thankfully!). I’m nearly running out of this body cleanser, so I’ll need to re-stock it! I use this cleanser every day and for RRP $11.99, it’s definitely worth it. If you are going to purchase anything from Anatomicals, this has to be the first one.
