Dr.Hauschka Limited Edition Chorus Collection

Before I received these beautiful samples to review, I have heard a lot about how amazing Dr.Hauschka brand is, beauty editors and friends I have talked to about this brand always tells me the great experience they have had with Dr. Hauschka products. So, I was curious and excited to find out! Thank you Dr. Hauschka New Zealand for sending me some products to enjoy (both makeup & cleansing products). This post will feature the makeup products and on a separate post, I will feature the cleansing products.

The recent makeup collection from Dr. Hauschka is the Chorus collection. It features products for the eyes, lips and complexion. It’s a limited edition Spring/Summer 2014 collection. The Chorus collection offers stunning looks that are spot on-trend, highlighting your natural beauty while caring for the skin with the finest botanical ingredients.

What I love about this collection & what caught my eye is how the rich hues coordinate with softer tones, while shimmer is tempered with a matte finish to create a harmonious balance. At first blush, you wouldn’t think the colors seem best fit together, however, you’ll get it when you apply them & it looks amazing, natural and soft when applied. It’s a breath of fresh air when at times, it seems as though people are obsessed with nude palettes. This collection definitely prompts me to be more daring and to be more creative with colors.

Bold, bright shadows which you wouldn’t think would work but do so amazingly are paired with more subdued hues and tones to provide your makeup collection the shimmer and matte Spring awakening it needs. Some points to highlight:

(1) Versatile colors in warm and cool hues work with all skin tones to highlight the nuances of the complexion

(2) Coordinated colors make for bold, playful, soft and subtle effects

(3) Decorative Cosmetics offer color that cares for the skin with nurturing botanical ingredients

(4) Chorus Collection is NATRUE certified natural cosmetics

The Matte & Shimmer Blush Trio (05) trio RRP $65.  Three shades – Magic Sandstone, Ecstatic Pink and Confident Berry – in two finishes, matte and shimmer, create myriad options for contouring and highlighting the complexion. Colors offer natural vitality to the skin with a soft rose scent from pure essential oils.

It is pressed with an attractive design, the blush can be applied in any combination of colors. You can use it to create a dramatic and expressive look or to add soft and playful highlights. It is a smudge-proof compact (very helpful!). I can add a splash of color for my daytime makeup look to the office and from my office to the social event after work, I can add more to build the color up. It looks great on my skin and I believe it is flattering on all skin tones. It smells amazing and it is smooth on my skin which I just absolutely love.

The next item in this collection is the Eyeliner – Taupe Kajal 08 RRP $39. Kajal eyeliner color, taupe, coordinates perfectly with the new eye shadow colors. Its tone is dark but warm and earthy, creating contours that are both expressive and subtle. The liner effortlessly glides on skin, making for smooth, precise application.

The final two products are for the lips; the lipstick in Soft Rose 18 (RRP $49) and the lip gloss in 07 Golden Apricot (RRP $39)

They are two different textures and effects; the lipstick is in a delicate, warm rosé shade and lip gloss is in a shining golden apricot tone.

When the lipgloss is applied, the lips look like they have been kissed by the sun, shimmering in its golden rays. The creamy base of beeswax, mango butter and apricot kernel oil cares for the delicate skin of the lips, keeping them moisturised, silky and supple. I like the fact that the lip gloss gives me that sheen without the stickiness. I do not like sticky lip glosses, so this is great!

The lipstick is a ray of warmth for the lips. Expressive lips often provide the final note of perfection to an attractive, individual makeup look. They are a lovely concoction to the collection; the emphasis on the eye makeup and a soft look on the lips. The natural ingredients in the lipsticks also means I can be assured that my lips will be safe and nourished.

I thoroughly enjoyed reviewing the products and I look forward to the next collection! This is my first time sampling Dr Hauschka makeup products & it didn’t disappoint at all. I would personally recommend this brand & the collection to my friends and readers.
