KAGI “I am” A/W 2014 Collection

KAGI “I am” A/W 2014 Collection

A day before Valentines Day, invited guests were treated to a beautiful and inspiring Kagi Jewellery Launch for the “I am” Autumn/Winter 2014 Collection. It was held at the French Café, a gorgeous venue to match the exquisite new collection with New Zealand’s life coach Tracy Manu as guest speaker. This is indeed a very unique launch!

‘I am’ is a bold, confident mix of capsule collections that extend upon Kagi’s best-sellers and introduce even more innovative designs. My first thoughts upon setting my sight on this collection was just how versatile these pieces were, you can take them from day-time to a night time glamorous look, as many a times, I am running from my day time work to social events and other commitments!!

The collection included stunning Dutch lucky charms, more affordable gold designs, mix and match earrings, cubist inspired pendants, pink pearls, and versatile reversible design elements. This ensures that there is something to suit each and every woman! This new collection “I am” is in essence about empowering women every day to celebrate their own unique sense of self. Kat Gee, the beautiful designer and founder of Kagi refers to this collection as her most exciting and personal collection yet.

In her own words, Kat stated “I design Kagi to suit women and our busy lifestyle. Kagi is a multi-tasker that can easily be transformed to match any mood, moment or occasion. Jewellery is an outward expression of who you are and who you want to be empowering women every day to celebrate their own unique sense of self, and allowing their personal style shine”.

Kagi new range boasts numerous capsule collections and is scheduled for release over the coming months: Firstly, the Romantics Nouveau was launched in February. This collection channels the romantic Art Nouveau period and these designs have an understated elegance and charm. Filigree details, red corals, black agate and gemstones feature through the capsule collection with handset sparkling crystals adding a touch of elegance to everyday life.

Secondly, the Gold range was also launched in February. Kagi have extended their hugely popular introduction of 9ct rose and yellow gold plated jewellery to include their most popular pendants and chains in both tones. Most exciting is the launch of a new signature piece that is a gold tri-circle pendant inspired by a Dutch lucky charm. Guests were gifted this beautiful rose gold plated necklace, yes, we were truly spoilt! I love it so much that I wear it a lot! It has become one of my statement pieces.

Another range that is also launching in April is the Cubist/Geometric collection. In this range, a spectrum of colors collide in these simple tessellation inspired styles. Similar to the color blocking of Mondrian paintings, these designs have an understated, geometric beauty.  Pendants are either double sided, or finished with latticed dealing – perfectly complimented by a new superfine long box chain.

A significant thing about Kagi is that so many of the pieces are New Zealand designed, they are of amazing quality yet are affordable pieces which means Kagi’s large and loyal fan base will have their wish lists at the ready for the new capsule collections. Kat calls it affordable luxury and I agree. I certainly admire Kat for her business prowess. New Zealand definitely needs more women like her in business.

The new collection is diverse and stunning and the ‘I am’ collection is set to launch a new era of Kagi women across New Zealand and Australia. When you stop to think about it, the words “I am” is truly powerful & it is up to you to decide who you truly are. This beautiful new collection allows us to be ourselves by providing Kagi’s large and loyal fan base with various choices that suit them best & to express ourselves through jewellery.

I had an amazing time at the launch & my favourite range from the collection would have to be the Gold/Rose collection as it suits me and my skin tone perfectly well. I also love the bridal pieces. I look forward to future collections and I am now definitely a fan of Kagi.
