One of the prettiest makeup collections launched this year, MAC cosmetics has collaborated with Bao Bao Wan. High-society darling, artist, pop philosopher, muse and jewellery designer, Bao Bao Wan is one of China’s most renowned style stars.
This collection is inspired by her womanly and brazen aesthetic. The collection is outfitted in velvety brown packaging featuring burnished metal, embellished with her signature. The face takes centre stage as she decorates the complexion with the metallic golds and rich jewel tones she so adores. Perfect for the Asian skin tone.
Lipsticks are available in four shades; Forbidden Sunrise which is a creamy orange (matte) and I am currently loving, Lavender Jade which is a dirty mauve with gold pearl (matte), Romantic Breakdown which is a sheer nude (lustre) and Burmese Kiss which is a bright coral pink (matte). I was born in Burma, so how fitting is that? Must get that for myself! Lipsticks retail at $44.
The eyeshadow palette is simply beautiful. The Deluxe PearlFusion Shadow comes in Bao Bao’s Jewels consisting of gold shimmer, dark brown with silver pearl, pale pink shimmer, steel grey shimmer and dark rose bronze fitting for a bronze goddess. This is one of the few occasions where I love every single color in the palette. The palette retails at $105.
In the collection, there is also beauty powder available (RRP$55) and nail lacquer in three different shades; Kashmir Blue, Imperial Green and Sunset Tourmaline (RRP $28).
The collection is now available to purchase in New Zealand at select authorised MAC locations.
