Number One Shoes celebrated their Winter 2014 Leather collection in an event titled Man Exchange hosted by Starseed PR. Now make no mistake we weren’t there to swap our boyfriends, husbands, brothers or fathers, we were simply invited to swap their shoes which we (the majority female) detested.
By the door sat a large wooden tub with a sign that read ‘out with the OLD, in with the NEW’ and in it was a sad pile of discarded shoes. I took one look inside and tossed in my boyfriend’s old black Hush Puppies. The room just seem to emanate an angelic white glow. Perhaps it was the Rekorderlig on an empty stomach messing with my sight, but I do know that being in a room filled with shoes was a huge factor.
There were two large tables that separated the men’s and women’s range. As if to express a feel of escape, wonder and exploration, the men’s table was cleverly decorated with glass jars, wooden crates, globes, sticks and driftwood. While the women’s table had an artistic and liberal touch with it’s phonograph, books, suitcases and typewriter. Each table had sprinklings of autumn leaves which I thought added a beautiful touch.
On feature and there to trade were five men’s limited edition & genuine leather shoes/boots. Made from genuine leather these kicks will surely add some class and style to your man. I picked the brown Leonardo Leather Boots retailing at $119.99 NZD, the design is simple, timeless and great with a pair of jeans.
Overall the collection is impressive, the men’s range had great style with plenty of variety with women’s range just as wonderfully diverse. From bow flats to pointed flats, ballet shoes to heels, it is such a huge collection to drool over. If you are a fan of pony hair then there’s the Regan Pony Hair Loafer to look out for, or if you love a good heel then keep an eye out for the Rita Leather Heels.
My favourite will have to be Roxie Leather Ballet shoes cute with stitches, a bow and some bling.
